day with zeal and spirit befitting the occasion. The Indian tricolor was unfurled
in the College field in the morning by the honourable Chief Guest Shri Gopal Chandra
Das who is a Social Activist and a retired IRS officer. |

The Measles Rubella (MR) Vaccination camp was organised on 1st September, 2018 at
RD English Academy, Digboi in collaboration with the Health Department of Assam
Government. The aim of the drive is to eliminate Measles and control Congenital
Rubella Syndrome (CRS) in the country by the year 2020.

objective of bringing out the hidden talents of students with a focus on creating

with great enthusiasm. People remembered & paid tributes to the martyrs whose
sacrifice helped India secure independence. During this celebration, we avoided
cultural events as half of our villages in Assam are under flood water. I wish all
a happy Independence Day. |

Today we observed International Yoga Day in R D Junior College auditorium. Yoga
instructor Sukhomoy Nath Sir conducted the yoga meet, where around 200 students
participated. The idea was to promote mental, spiritual & physical well being
of the students. |

Bhuban Doley securing 1062(ST) All India Rank. We wish him success in all the years

Today, a recitation competition was held at the Academic building where many students
from class 1 to class 4 has participated. We truly appreciate the efforts of Swaati
ma'am and Principal ma'am for the better conduction of the event. Along with it,
We are also thankful to the judges (Mrs. Anjali Bhattacharjee ma'am, Miss Arpita
Deb and Miss Rimpi Sonowal) and the class teachers for their contribution towards
making this competition, a huge success. |

R D Saikhik Kendra today conducted it's first exam in its Lakhipather & Pengaree
centers. Around 300 students participated in the exams. The participating students
were as vibrant as our students in R D Junior College. I am very delighted to feel
the response of the centers. |

A week long R D Premier Cricket League has come to an end today with the Teachers
team (male) & Arts team (female) becoming the ultimate winners this year. The
runners were Coaching (male) & Commerce(female) respectively. The great spirit
of R D could again be seen in the playground all these days. I am thankful to Mahendra
Bharali Baruah Sir, Purna Kt Saikia Sir, Apurba Saikia Sir, Sushanta Duttagupto
Sir, Aftab Hussain Sir, Bijoy Saikia Sir, Anshuman Gogoi Sir, Horen Nath Sir &
others whose presence made the finals a great event. |

Today is a memorable day for all of us as we have formally inaugurated our 2nd R
D Saikshik Kendra at Pengaree High School, Pengaree that provides "Free tuition"
classes to students residing in the remote areas of our state. Mr Bikram Koiry Sir,
SDO (C), Margherita graced the occasion as the Chief Guest & enlightened the
students, teachers & guardians by his interaction. He stressed the need for
mutual cooperation amongst all sections of the society for a better tommorow. He
also urged upon the students to accept the good side of IT & reject the bad
side by "filtration ". I extend my heartiest thanks to Niluma Gogoi baidew, District
Consultant, RMSA, Anil Borgohain Sir, Principal, Binoy Sonowal Sir, HM (ME section),
Rama Kt Gogoi Sir, Retired HM, Dilip Bhattacharjee Sir, Purna Kt Saikia Sir, Azma
Begum Baidew, Debeswar Sonowal Sir, Kushal Saikia Sir, Promod Bhuyan , Ratul Sarma
Sir & others for their cooperation & support in establishing this center.

Today honourable Chief Minister Sri Sarbananda Sonowal sir visited our Chairman
Sir Sri Rameswar Dhanowar in his AMCH cabin. He enquired about his health &
wished him a speedy recovery. Also, in spite of his ailing health, our Chairman
Sir didn't miss the opportunity to discuss issues which touch the well being of
our society, which CM sir participated with great attention. We offer my heartfelt
thanks to the Honourable CM sir for his visit.

Today The Managing trustee of RD Educational & Sports Foundation Mr. Manoj Dhanowar
distributed class note copies amongst the students of 7no Kathgaon L P School at
Tingrai. He is very thankful to the Managing Committee president Smt Korobi Sarma
baidew, Smt Parul Ojah Baidew , teachers and local ATTSA leaders Rajesh Munda, Sanjoy
Kalowar, Manuj Sawashi ,Niranjan Singh and others. The guardians present were briefed
about the significance of education and encouraged to pursue education for their
children without compromising. He hope such humble steps will go a long way in encouraging
better education for our society.

Saraswati puja is celebrated in RD with great faith & fun fare. For the first
time, students participated with great enthusiasm in uniform, which symbolized discipline
& true tribute to the goddess. Games which are nowadays mostly forgotten like
tug of war, spoon race, sack race, tekeli bhonga etc were part of today's celebration.

The " Annual Day " of R D English Academy( Nursery to VIII ) is held today after
3 years. We congratulate our teachers and students who could very well project a
spirit of unity that can prevail in our society through inter-mixing of culture.

Today R D English Academy conducted it's 2nd exhibition show for Art, Craft &
Science models prepared by our students upto VIII. Altogether around 100 models/projects
were displayed by different houses viz. Srimanta Sankardeva, Swami Vivekananda,
Chaitanya Mahaprabhu & Guru Nanak. Students enthusiastically participated in
the exhibition projecting not only a sense of competition, but also a sense of unity
amongst the houses.

Students in RD had a very nice time as they participated in a host of co-curricular
activities like Kho Kho, Kabbadi, Carrom, Rangoli, Dance & Chorus competitions
held simultaneously from 1/10 to 6/10.All the finals were held on 6/10. Distinguished
guests like Mahendra Bharali Baruah sir, Punya Saikia sir, Dilip Bhattacharjee sir,
Punya kt Saikia sir, Sushanto Dutta Gupto sir, Diganta Dutta sir, Nayanmoni Dutta
Baidew, Aftab Hussain da, Pabitra Borah da & Monalisa Das Baidew graced the
occasion by their presence. Rishikesh Phukon & Dipankar Nath, HSE Officers in
OIL conducted the Quiz competition in a very lively manner as Quiz masters. We in
RD believe that academics can be promoted through non - academic activities at some
intervals. |

Yoga has been practiced in our country since time immemorial. Now it has become
an art of living. Hence, RD Junior College have started a weekly one day yoga session
for the students. The basic motive behind the classes is to relieve the students
from any kind of stresses they may be into.

Our Volleyball team visited Sainik School Goalpara to play a one day Tounament.
The team was guided by Atul Baruah sir & Manoj Barman sir. Although our team
tried it's level best, but it lost the game to the Sainik School team.

Bam kolakhowa gaon , like hundreds of other villages of Assam was devastated by
flood. In association with Bam Kolakhowa Jubok Sangha our teachers & students
distributed around 3 ton relief materials amongst 150 families today. Honourable
MLA of Digboi, Sri Suren Phukon flagged off the relief materials today morning.
I salute the spirit of Chitta Kamal Handique, our teachers & students who have
made this humble endeavour successful. |

Siddhartha Sonowal, a student of R.D English Academy, who appeared HSLC,2016 is
no more amongst us. The entire R.D family had a condolence meet today morning. May
the soul rest at peace. We urge upon the civil administration of the Dibrugarh District
to investigate the matter seriously and bring the truth behind his death to light
so that justice prevails. |

"The Annual Wall Magazine -2016" was inaugurated today by Mahendra Bharali Baruah
sir, retired Principal, Digboi College, Kamalesh Chokroborty sir, Renowned Advocate,
& Dilip Bhatta sir, retired Principal, Soumar Vidyapith. The students were highly
enlightened by their presence. A total of 11 teams participated in the competition.

At the initiative of the Tinsukia
District Administration, more than 10 teachers & 300 students from R D Jr College
& R D English Academy went to the Aghbandha village to be a part of a massive
tree plantation programme. Around 1000 people from different spheres of work participated
to plant 50000 trees under the banner of " MISSION GREEN TINSUKIA". Hats off to
the initiative of our district administration.

A 12-15 feet long python
was rescued by our teacher , Jitumoni Dutta sir along with Parikhit Dutta, a pass
out student of RD & Prafulla Gogoi, a forest official. The python was rescued
from a residential colony of IOCL, Digboi. They were prompt enough to inform the
forest officials on 15/9/15 at around 3 am & took the lead initiative in the
rescue operation. A Good initiative towards nature conservation!

It's a matter of pride for all of us that two of our teachers heve been selected
by the Government of Assam for the "Teacher of Excellence Award". They are Mrs Bonti
Borgohain( Logic & Philosophy ) & Miss Momee Borthakur( Education ). The
award shall be presented to them by the honourable Chief Minister of Assam at Srimanta
Sankar dev Kalakhetra on 4/9/15. Congratulations to both of them.

& Captain Aslish Sawant had a motivational class for the students of RD Junior
College. The aim of the class was to motivate our students to join the Indian Army
